TALES FROM THE ARCO

To accommodate an influx of refugees from extended conflict in the South Pacific, the U.S. builds several enormous, self-contained megacities known as the arcologies.

Influenced by pop culture and the immigrants themselves, the arcologies are designed to be facsimiles of island cabanas, full of bamboo and coconuts, places where a working stiff gets a Mai Tai after his shift in the boiler room.

But there's trouble in paradise, for wherever mankind is confined, the animal in him tests the bars of the cage. The tragic lives of the inhabitants of this strange tikipunk world intertwine as the facade of normalcy held together with white lies and half-truths begins to unravel in

The Arco

Praise for Tales From the Arco: A Tikipunk Collection

“Emilio Jasso and John Silvio’s ‘Tales from the Arco: A Tikipunk Collection’ paints a lively picture of life in future megacities. With a blend of crime-fiction, parody, and alternate history, this collection explores humanity’s strength and tests its boundaries. Jasso and Silvio’s writing is sharp and creative, highlighting the roller-coaster ride of human nature. The characters live on – long after the book has been closed!”

–Sonja Koch, author of Bookends of Life

“Best read over Mai Tais, Tales from the Arco is an ambitious narrative that captures the allure and menace of the Pacific Islands. Drowned in neo-tech horror, the characters all have real skin in the game: the inept local PD, tech oligarchs, an artificial intelligence simulating God, and the Chinese government. No matter where you turn, the Arco is alive — and ready to claim its next victim.”

-Mathew Serback, author of The First Great American Novel
